Working with Tutor Helen Jonas has been a joy, not only was she receptive to our colourful design ideas for her website (reinforcing ‘Tutoring is fun’ statement) – she also surprised us with homemade cakes for every meeting. Most impressive though is Helen’s sunny disposition and willingness to learn herself! The result, a website build that has been as smooth as summer cherries! (Please note other ‘smooth as’ similes suggestions are welcome…)
The True Rocks team have been on a rollercoster wave of excitement and activity this year – celebrities have been adorning their pendants and I’ve just added a whole new selection of sumptuous jewellery items. Take a sneaky peek and put your favourites (mine two are the pineapples & artist Rachael Howard’s limited edition Humble Hangers!) on a must have wish list to Santa..
We are heads down at the moment in the office – all good, but no time for blogs about skim projects.. However I do have time for bugs – just found a few macro shots I took of ‘Ralf’ – the Lesser Stag Beetle – cute furry feelers.. back to work now honest Dave!
Just been sent an image of our local client Resilience Communications at the DSEI (that’s The World Leading Defence and Security Event) Our challenge was to provide show off the latest Resilience innovations – which could then be projected on screens at this event in London. The products arrived on Friday morning, along with the rotating stand – then over to Skim for lights, camera, action, edit, conversion, tweak, and supply to client Saturday morning!
Best of luck for the show Resilience team – we look forward to hearing the feedback…
It was time for a change. Ed Docx has expanded his literary talents to more than writing fictional novels (just completed book four). In addition Ed writes non-fiction journalistic pieces in both The Guardian and Prospect Magazine. So today is an exciting day – Ed has not only written an extremely interesting article entitled Tiger Porn (in the Law section of The Guardian) but we have also made his dazzling new website live – read all about the man – Ed.
Our second Gary is of equal measure in importance with his shiny new business : Big Rib Charters – he does what is says on the can >> Charters his big rib (fun fast speedboat in layman’s terms) for entertainment use around Cornwall’s stunning coastline. Gary Morozow recently delivered a Bride & Groom on their big day in front of a cheering wedding party near Charlestown, St Austell, or Poldark land as it’s now known. Skim worked on print work for Big Rib Charter’s fast paced growing local enterprise.
It’s not every week you do design work for 2 Gary’s and it too such polar opposite fields of work, I guess that’s why I still enjoy working at Skim New Media.. Gary Yershon is an experienced music composer who has a career spanning 4 decades and an amazing body of varied work in Theatre, TV, Film and Radio – at the 2015 awards he was nominated for an Oscar in the best score category on Mr Turner. Our website for Gary Yershon showcases this ever-expanding body of work in a timeline style format, which he can add to himself now. Gary part 2 to follow..
Well done Dave – the final edit of our ‘day in the life of Looe, on Looe Lugger Festival weekend’ – Time lapse film completed! Thanks to our fantastic clients Steve and Etty at the Sail Loft Studio for their local knowledge, filming assistance and fish and chips!
